"Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world". Nelson Mandela
Children learn best by doing and develop best through multisensory play. Our goal is to help children become enthusiastic learners. We encourage them to be active and creative explorers who are not afraid to try out their ideas and to think their own thoughts. Our goal is to help children become independent, self confident, inquisitive learners. We are teaching them how to learn, not just in preschool but through their lives. We allow them to learn at their own pace and in ways that are best for them. We provide purposeful teaching with center based learning concepts and age appropriate activities that incorporate Math, Science, Language Arts, Social Studies, and art.
We have an emphasis on developing a love for God through bible stories, learning scripture, and prayer.
Our curriculum identifies goals in all areas of development:
Social/Emotional Development- To learn about self and others
Physical Development- To learn about moving
Cognitive Development - To learn about the world
Language Development- To learn about communicating
We enhance these domains using a “Read it Once Again” program.
This program helps children Improve speech and language skills, Creates an atmosphere combining literacy with fun and learning. Promotes early literacy by introducing them to familiar children’s literature, Provides age appropriate materials promoting success and captures the fun of using rhyme, rhythm, and repetition as a tool for promoting language.
“Hand writing without tears”
This program is approved by the SC. Board of Education and is handwriting that uses hands-on materials. The materials teach a variety of readiness, writing, literacy, and early math skills including directionality, letter recognition, matching, vocabulary, rhyming, imitation, problem solving, patterns, and sequencing.
Music and Movement is integrated in all areas of development including math and reading.
We offer a music class each week that is a fun filled class using percussion instruments that involve song, dance, and rhyme.
Chapel is also a very important part of our curriculum.
It is an interactive class filled with music and movement, bible stories, puppetry, drama, and prayer time.
Our goal is to provide a positive learning environment that each child will grow in their feelings of self-worth.
CHAPEL TIME AT CREATIVE BEGINNINGs
At Creative Beginnings Christian Child Development we believe in planting seeds and laying a foundation of faith in Jesus Christ that will last a lifetime. Each week our children engage in and experience an oragnized chapel time. We have a monthly theme, bible verse, and bible story. Chapel is an interactive time for children to sing and praise and worship songs, enjoy pupperty, and activities that pertain to the monthly theme. Each chapel time concludes with prayer.Chapel is just the beginning of our schools focus on spirtual growth for our preschoolers. Teachers incorporate the theme, verse and story into their classroom on consistent basis through storytelling, songs, activities and time to share about God's role in their life and the world around them. Also every morning our children assemble in the hallway to say the Pledge of Allegiance, sing a Christian song, and join in prayer for the day. Our hope is that each child's faith will come alive in these early years and they will gain an awarness of God's amazing creation, Jesus' unconditional love for them, and that they can choose to follow Jesus throughout their lifetime.
